Released by Chris Paddie for Texas House:

MARSHALL, TX - Marshall Mayor Chris Paddie today announced his candidacy for the Texas State House of Representatives. He will run in the newly drawn Texas House District 9. In this year's redistricting, the Texas Legislature added Cass, Marion, and Panola Counties as well as Paddie's home County of Harrison to the new House District 9. This means that at least 78% of the District must select a new State Representative next year.

Chris Paddie will seek the GOP nomination to be that new State Representative.

"I look forward to having the opportunity to take my strong conservative philosophy to the State Legislature," said Paddie. "My campaign to reach each and every voter begins today."

As Marshall Mayor and during his years on the City Commission, Paddie never raised taxes on City residents. He helped push and pass reforms that have kept the city fiscally sound despite the national recession. Paddie is both a strong fiscal and social conservative Republican.

Paddie is General Manager of KMHT Radio where he hosts a daily talk show. Paddie is a graduate of Carthage High School and Texas A&M University. He and his wife Brooke have two sons, Christopher and Noah. Paddie is former Chairman of the Greater Marshall Chamber of Commerce and former President of the Boys & Girls Club of the Big Pines.

Paddie is a stockholder and director of Hanszen Broadcast Group Inc. Hanszen is part of a cluster which operates three stations, KMHT in Marshall, KGAS RADIO in Carthage and KPXI/KWRD in Henderson.
