Hawkins, TX (KLTV) - Today the city of Hawkins issued a mandatory water restriction for its residents. The restriction entails that even numbered addresses will be allowed to water their lawns on Mondays and Thursdays between 10pm and 6am, while odd numbered addresses will be allowed to water on Tuesdays and Fridays between 10pm and 6am.

City officials tell us the reason for this restriction is because the tank that holds the cities water is currently being repaired for maintenance issues.  The tank holds up to 500,000 gallons of water. Until this tank is repaired, the city is using water from it's water tower which holds up to 250,000 gallons and the it's other ground storage facility which holds up to 100,000.

Officials tell us it will be around two months until this restriction is lifted.
