Mt. Pleasant woman sentenced for drug trafficking

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - US Attorney John M. Bales announced Wednesday that Rosa Moreno Mejia, 42, of Mount Pleasant, has been sentenced to federal prison for drug violations in East Texas.

Mejia pleaded guilty on November 1, 2010 to possession with intent to distribute cocaine and was sentenced to 30 months in federal prison on Tuesday.

According to information presented in court, Mejia delivered approximately 30 grams of powder cocaine to co-defendant Alfredo Bello Dejesus in exchange for $900.

From September of 2009 to June of 2010, Mejia had delivered another 260 grams of cocaine.

A federal grand jury returned an indictment on July 14, 2010, charging Mejia with federal drug trafficking violations.
