LONGVIEW, TX (KTLV) - A Longview mother arrested earlier this week allegedly allowed her children to taste meth.
According to Longview Police, Amanda Gail Walker, 30, was arrested on Tuesday morning, after officers responded to the Wingate Hotel on Loop 281 on an assault call.
Walker allegedly assaulted another woman by ripping a clump of hair from her head.
Walker and her two children, ages 9 and 11, were found in a hotel room.
According to authorities, Walker struggled with officers before being arrested. When she was being taken into custody a small bag fell out of her clothing and was later identified as methamphetamine.
Authorities said the children told police they tasted the drug because they thought it was candy.
Walker was charged with possession of a controlled substance, criminal child negligence and assault causing bodily injury. Her bond has been set at $6,000.
