Phoebe Green joined the KTRE news team in November 2021 as a multimedia journalist. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Communication from Eastern New Mexico University.
During her time at ENMU, Phoebe became a host, storyteller, and television personality for News 3 New Mexico PBS. While at ENMU Phoebe also received the title “Miss Black ENMU” representing her school's multicultural affairs department throughout New Mexico.
Phoebe went on to compete in the 2016 Miss New Mexico state pageant her freshman year in college where she received the title “Miss Congeniality” for the presence she brought to the competition.
From humble beginnings, Phoebe’s love for people does not start at ENMU. In 2016, Phoebe was the Lubbock and West Texas area “Youth of the Year” for the local Boys and Girls Club. She credits the Boys and Girls Club for helping her develop public speaking and social skills.
Prior to graduation, Phoebe received a job at KAMC and KLBK news where she developed her production skills. From this she learned where her passions truly reside and that is in storytelling for communities in need. Phoebe stayed with the Lubbock news team for a year but felt that she had a calling elsewhere.
Although a Texas native born and raised Phoebe is new to the East Texas area and she is honored to serve and represent East Texas. Phoebe wants to make a difference any way she can.
A few fun facts about Phoebe is that she graduated from Talkington School for Young Women Leaders, an all-girl school in Lubbock. In her spare time, Phoebe is passionate about fitness and mental health, low income family struggles, and helping kids that live in single-parent households, as these are a few things she can identify and sympathize with.
Phoebe is looking forward to sharing the stories of East Texas communities. Connect with her on social media or by email @the.phoebe green or firstname.lastname@example.org.
