Throughout her childhood, Brianna Linn was known to family and friends as the “Linn Family Reporter.” That was because even at a young age, Brianna had a passion for telling stories and a nagging curiosity to stay updated on the latest events. Being a news reporter is something Brianna has always dreamed of, and she could not be happier to start her career as a multimedia journalist at KTRE.
Born and raised in Syracuse, New York Brianna graduated cum laude with a degree in Broadcasting and Mass Communication from the State University of New York at Oswego. While at SUNY Oswego, Brianna was an active member at WTOP-10, the school's award-winning student-run television station. She also worked as a Digital Storytelling and Reporting intern for the Marketing and Communication Department.
Shortly after graduation, Brianna joined the KTRE news team as a multimedia journalist in June 2021.
Brianna loves to travel, and is a strong believer in the quote, “Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.” This sense for adventure ultimately brought her across the country to East Texas to start her career. In her spare time, Brianna loves to read, shop and drink coffee. She also enjoys staying active and exploring new places.

Members of the community gathered Tuesday at the Angelina County Courthouse to voice opinion on Chuck Walker’s termination as county road engineer. The commissioners voted to remove Walker on March 22nd. Walker was indicted on a charge of tampering with a government document.

A public hearing will be held Tuesday regarding the termination of Angelina County Road Engineer Chuck Walker. Walker was terminated after being indicted by an Angelina County Grand Jury on March 10 for tampering with government records.

18-year-old Lacy Reynolds and 17-year-old Kaitlyn Byrum died in the crash at the intersection of Highway 103 and FM 1277 on March 23, 2021. Reynolds sister, Gabby Morgan, started a petition to have either a 4-way stop sign or stoplight installed at the intersection.

Matthew Beauregard is a Mathematics and Statistics Professor at SFA who serves as an Interim Chair of Computer Science. The touch screen kiosks that were installed Thursday allow the inmates to do a variety things, while also allowing the jail to be more proficient. Nick Gardner, the Assistant Warden at Angelina County Jail, said they are available to any inmate unless they are found guilty of some disciplinary action.

An East Texas man convicted of murder is still missing as of Sunday. Matthew Hoy Edgar failed to show up for trial on Thursday. His trial continued in his absence through his attorney and the Sabine County Jury found him guilty of killing his 19 year old girlfriend Livye Lewis.
