Alexandria Savage joined the KSLA News 12 team in September of 2021 and is ecstatic to call Louisiana home. She's originally from Chicago, Ill., but considers herself a Myrtle Beach, S.C. native. She began her love of news in high school, where she anchored and reported for Panther Pride, a student-run newscast. In college, she had the opportunity to continue her anchoring and reporting experience through Winthrop Close-Up at Winthrop University. Alexandria pursued and completed her master’s degree at West Virginia University while working full-time as a reporter.

She began her journey in the workforce immediately after college at WMBF in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Since then, Alexandria has spent the past seven years reporting in the Carolinas, Virginia, and West Virginia. Now, she's taking on her new role in Shreveport, as digital anchor and executive producer of News 12 Now.

Through her efforts to engage in the community in Parkersburg, W.V., Alexandria was able to organize a community cleanup at Sumner School, the first school for free-Blacks below the Mason-Dixon line. More than 100 people showed up to help renovate the building.

In Charleston, S.C., Alexandria was able to cover protests, give a platform to mothers of suicide victims, and cover All Out May 1. She's coming directly from Roanoke, Va., where Alexandria covered protests, cases that garnered national attention, and shed light on the death of Kionte Spencer.

Alexandria was a three-sport division one athlete and still competes in multiple sports. She enjoys engaging in community service and has coached youth soccer and basketball for five years. Alexandria is a storyteller at heart, with a passion for the community. If you have a story for her, a community service opportunity, or a food recommendation, please reach out!
