TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - Lawyers say a plea deal is on the table for Patrick Mahomes Sr., who is accused of drunken driving in February.
Former Major League Baseball pitcher Patrick Mahomes Sr., 53, father of Kansas City Chiefs star QB Patrick Mahomes II, appeared in Judge Kerry Russell’s court.
The defense motioned to have his blood independently tested, and the judge granted the motion. The state’s test result came back at 0.23. In Texas, a driver is considered legally intoxicated when BAC reaches 0.08.
Both sides discussed a plea deal for 10 years’ probation, and the DA is open to a lower number.
A tentative trial date has been set for July 22 at 9 a.m.
