City of Tyler gives update on funding for expansion of Old Jacksonville Highway

TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - The Tyler Area Metropolitan Planning Organization hosted an open house Tuesday evening to talk about an update regarding the funding for a project in the Transportation Improvement Program.
Current plans would widen a stretch of Old Jacksonville Highway from Loop 323 to FM 2813 to six lanes. Funding will be split with 80% coming from federal and 20% state.
The total cost of the project has not changed, and as of today is estimated to cost nearly $190,000,000. The proposed amendment for the highway lane expansion will be considered for adoption on Thursday, November 16.
