1 killed, 3 injured in crash with semi-truck near Lindale

LINDALE, Texas (KLTV) - One of five people involved involved in a two-vehicle crash near Lindale on Tuesday has died.
Texas DPS Sgt. Adam Albritton confirmed the fatality, which happened on Interstate 20 after a pickup and a semi-truck collided, flipping the pickup. One of the truck’s four occupants died after being transported to an area hospital. The other three pickup occupants also sustained injuries.
A report from Texas DPS later revealed more information about the crash. The driver of the GMC Sierra truck, Khaled J. Al Masalmah, 20, of Fort Worth, was pronounced dead at UT Health in Tyler. Alaa H. Fares, 23, of Wylie, Mohammad G. Mahasneh, 34 of Wylie, and Mohammad H. Alachmouti, 21, of Plano, were the three passengers in the truck. The driver of the semi-truck, Shaludzko Bahdan, 39, of Boco Ratan, Florida, was uninjured according to the report.
The DPS report said that both vehicles were heading west on I-20, and the GMC Sierra collided with the semi-truck on the back left side. The GMC Sierra then lost control and rolled over, according to the report. The weather conditions were reportedly clear, and the road was dry.
The crash happened around 8 p.m. and blocked westbound traffic for more than two hours.
