National Skilled Nursing Care Week event held at Bergfeld Park

TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - It was a picnic, but not just any picnic; it was Picnic in the Park.
There was even live entertainment at Bergfeld Park provided by dancers from the Senior Center on Friday. Area nursing homes gathered in recognition of National Skilled Nursing Care Week, which kicked off on Mother’s Day and goes through Sunday. This year’s theme was “Cultivating Kindness” and there was plenty of that going on.
The week celebrates skilled nursing care gives to seniors and the disabled.
KLTV’s Jamey Boyum spoke with Touchstone Communities’ Becky Edwards about a gathering of nine nursing homes in Bergfeld Park for Picnic in the Park.
