TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - Several former East Texas high school football standouts are expected to be picked during 2023 NFL Draft. The draft takes place Thursday through Saturday in Kansas City.

The following East Texas players have been selected in the NFL Draft.

  • DeMarvion Overshown of Arp, linebacker for UT, has been picked by the Dallas Cowboys. He was chosen in the third round, 90th overall.

Arp ISD’s Mike Alzamora shared the following live video as Overshown’s name was called out.

  • Kendre Miller is headed to The New Orleans Saints. Miller is a running back who played for TCU after graduating from Mount Enterprise. He was 71st pick overall in the draft. He will have an East Texas teammate, Lufkin’s Erik McCoy, who was drafted in 2019.

  • Tyree Wilson, Texas Tech DE: First Round, 7th pick overall by the Las Vegas Raiders. Wilson, a graduate of West Rusk ISD in New London announced that he would forego his last season at Texas Tech to be available for the 2023 draft.
