Whitehouse mayor partners with Meals on Wheels to cheer up recipients

WHITEHOUSE, Texas (KLTV) - Uncle Sam wants you to help feed those in need.

Well it may not be the real Uncle Sam, but it is Whitehouse Mayor James Wansley dressed like him. It was to promote Meals on Wheels in Whitehouse. It’s part of a contest called March for Meals Mayor Mayhem. Mayor Wansley would like to see more people involved.

Yeah, we might be the only face that they see in person every week. And it’s also a welfare check so, we’ll go in, we’ll deliver the meals that they need for the next few days. And we’ll also do a welfare check, make sure everything’s going okay. And a lot of times there’s a conversation that comes with it,” Said Whitehouse Mayor James Wansley.
