LONGVIEW, Texas (KLTV) - They were in storage bins, but they’re not anymore.

The nearly 3,000 dresses are being hung at the annual Zonta Club of Longview’s Free Prom Dress Boutique. Since prom dresses are usually only worn once, Zonta began accepting like-new dresses as donations to give away free to anyone who needs one. Over the last 14 years, word has spread about the annual boutique and students are traveling from all over East Texas to save hundreds of dollars.

“If they come from out of town, they’ll come in van loads and bring several girls with them at a time, so they can all shop and probably go to dinner and make a fun trip of it,” said Zonta Club of Longview President Tammy Gibbons.

The dresses are free to anyone who needs one on Saturday, Feb. 25, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Exhibit Center Building at the Longview Fairgrounds.
