LONGVIEW, Texas (KLTV) - If you’re thinking about a remodel, or even building a new home, we may have just the thing for you this weekend at Maude Cobb in Longview. It’s the annual East Texas Builder’s Association’s Annual Home and Design Show with a building full of ideas.

According to East Texas Builder’s Association Executive Officer Angela Daughtry, if you’re looking for something new in a home, Maude Cobb in Longview is the place to be this weekend.

“You have over 70 vendors that provide products for homes and homeowners all under one roof,” Daughtry said. “So, what better use of your time to just come in here and visit with builders, lenders, suppliers that provide everything from counter tops to flooring to home furnishings, everything.”

If you have questions, this is where to get answers without running all around East Texas for a couple weeks.

“A lot of our vendors, they’re just really eager to talk to the customers,” Daughtry said.

She’s referring to vendors like Ronnie Allen, who owns B&L Cabinets and Supply. He was happy to explain all the options.

“All kinds of interior products to handle all your dishware and stuff like that. New designs as far as door styles go; different woods,” Allen said.

It’s a common struggle -- you open a cabinet, and all the stacked pots and pans hit the floor.

“There’s all kinds of racks, rollouts, drawer systems,” Allen said. “I mean, there’s many, many different ways of doing it. It’s just what you prefer the best.”

With his solution, the pots may clang, but it won’t be from hitting the floor since the cabinet he showed has an extendable hooked rack on top.

“Hang your pots,” Allen said.

Or, maybe you want roll-out wine bottle storage. Well, there’s that too. And, no more rummaging around in a dark cabinet.

“There’s all kinds of styles of lighting. Some people even request the cabinets be lit inside,” Allen said.

But wait, there’s more! Besides cabinets, that is.

“Big Daddy’s Stereo, they’ve got a lot of technology that’s new,” Daughtry said.

And, builders have a new way to help you imagine your next construction project.

“For doing floor plans in 3D, and so you can sit down with a builder, and they can show you what your house is going to look like before it’s built,” Daughtry said.

But, one of the main things to keep in mind with pretty much all these contractors is timing.

“Our builders just keep us swamped,” Allen said.

So, you may talk about it today, but it will probably be several months before your change begins. Although you may want to get to those cabinets sooner.

The show runs Friday until 8 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. Tickets are $7 at the door, and children 12 and under are free.
