BULLARD, Texas (KLTV) - Bullard police responded Thursday to the post office on Main Street after a vehicle crashed into it.

The U.S. Postal Service released the following statement:

“The safety and well-being of both customers and employees is of the utmost importance to the U.S. Postal Service. This afternoon, at approximately 1:30 p.m., a postal customer drove their personal vehicle into the retail lobby of the Bullard Post Office. The accident caused damage to a wall at the front of the building. No employees were injured, and the driver of the personal vehicle is being treated by the paramedics. Postal officials are currently assessing the damage, and we will keep customers informed of any disruptions in the retail and/or P.O. Box operations. We appreciate our customers’ patience and understanding as we work to make the necessary repairs.”

The post office is located at 409 East Main Street. The USPS stated on Thursday night that retail operations at that post office will be temporarily suspended until further notice.

Customers with a post office box there should pick up their mail at the Jacksonville Post Office, at 400 W. Rusk Street. It is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
