Troup High School football player suffers head injury during game

Cooper Reid was taken to a hospital where he is receiving treatment for a head injury

TROUP, Texas (KLTV) - A Troup High School football player was injured Friday night during their game against Buffalo, according to First Baptist Church of Troup.

The church’s social media post says Cooper Reid suffered a head injury at the high school’s homecoming football game.

The community came together Saturday night for a prayer vigil on the football field where Reid was injured. People locked hands and said a prayer for Cooper and his family.

Another prayer meeting was held at 9:45 a.m. Sunday morning in the FBCT sanctuary for Cooper and his family.

Additionally, Troup ISD made a post announcing their homecoming dance scheduled for Saturday night has been postponed.

Troup ISD is asking students and community members to wear blue on Monday to show support for Cooper.
