LONGVIEW, Texas (KLTV) - The residents asked and the city responded.

The City of Longview received input from residents what improvements they would like at Longview parks. High on the list was additional restrooms. City officials decided on prefabricated restrooms that come complete and just need to be set in place over specific plumbing. This restroom won’t be ready to use for a couple weeks.

“We get a lot of use of our parks and trails and facilities. And we want to make sure people are enjoying themselves and have extended stays along those amenities and things. And so, having a park and having a restroom there makes it a whole lot easier to extend that stay for sure,” said Longview Parks and Recreation Director Scott Caron.

The restroom runs about $150,000 and came from the parks budget. This is the fifth prefab restroom installed in Longview parks in the past five years. It’s the last one budgeted for now.
