HAWKINS, Texas (KLTV) - Police Chief Manfred Gilow has resigned from his position as chief of the police department.

Hawkins City Council members accepted his resignation. Gilow said he was trying to get his officers a $2 per hour raise, but the council denied that.

“There were other issues; that was the final straw with the raises, because this could have been done easily and it did not bust the budget at all.”

Gilow has been police chief since 2019.
