LONGVIEW, Texas (KLTV) - The fire that shut down Oak Forest Country Club in Longview is still under investigation.

Manager Von Vogel said the fire is being looked into by the Longview Fire Department as well as the ATF. Fire scene tape is still up and no one is allowed in the building until the investigation is complete. There is no electricity, so the pool has turned green. Vogel said he has been able to look inside from a doorway.

“It’s pretty black, pretty destroyed; the walls destroyed. The gym area, they deemed all that equipment not usable. But it’s mainly, even up to the front of the building, soot and smoke is all in there. It’s going to be a lot of renovation,” Vogel said.

Vogel said they are setting up temporary offices off-site and the golf course is open for members. Nonmembers can golf in the afternoon if they pay with cash.
