TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - Bergfeld Realty spoke with KLTV Tuesday about Plaza Tower, downtown revitalization, and upcoming projects to keep the momentum going in bringing downtown Tyler back to life.

Andy Bergfeld, the president of Bergfeld Realty Company, said the goal is to constantly work on improving the city.

Bergfeld grew up in Tyler, so he said he wants to maintain the historical feel of the town with revitalized buildings.

“We’re always looking and asking, ‘What else does Tyler need? What else does downtown need?’” Bergfeld said.

He said they are currently working on three major construction sites, the HG2 Building, the Odd Fellows Lounge, and the old Union Bus Station.

The old Union Bus Station is still in the working process, but he said he hopes to maintain the 1932 architecture while completely converting the inside to a more modern, 9-room boutique hotel.

“Seven upstairs, two downstairs, and then we’re going to have a little retail component, maybe a winery, maybe a distillery. Something fun that we don’t have downtown,” Berfeld said.
