JEFFERSON, Texas (KLTV) - They say it’s one of the most haunted places in Texas, and a couple ghost hunters who have been in several paranormal TV shows are in East Texas this weekend to find out. Part of the “Tennessee Wraith Chasers” are investigating the Jefferson Hotel with plenty of paranormal gear. And for a price, the general public can be part of the hunt.

Jefferson Hotel Owner Jeromy Jones shows Tennessee Wraith Chasers Chris Smith and Mike Goncalves one of the paranormal devices he invented. Their latest show, “Haunted Live” is presently not in production:

“Because of COVID, you know the restrictions and some of the limitations we weren’t able to film in 2020. And right now we’re just kind of in limbo,” Smith said.

So Smith and Goncalves have taken their show on the road.

“Every week we’re somewhere across the country and we give opportunities to fans and friends to come out and investigate with us,” Goncalves said.

The two evening event isn’t free, the guys have to make a living, but fans of the show are happy to get a ticket.

“Everything that they’ve watched on the show and they’ve always wanted to do they get to do here this weekend,” Goncalves said.

Jones says back in 2014 he sent some of his equipment to the show “Ghost Asylum”, which the guys were involved with, and they used the devices.

“It went on and on for different seasons of “Ghost Asylum”, then they started other episodes and other shows,” Jones said.

And when they discovered Jones has some unexplained security camera video, well, the road show came to Jefferson.

“The last time we were here, I believe it was about three months ago, we had some just epic activity up in the attic,” Smith said.

So we went up there, but it seemed pretty quiet, although it was kind of creepy. In room 19 though, equipment was lighting up. And just before that there was a knock. Jeromy says a century ago a young bride hung herself in the room when the groom didn’t show for the wedding. He says it’s the most haunted room at the hotel.

“Did you hear that knock?” Goncalves asked Jones.

And when the guys opened the door no one was in the hall. Was someone playing a knock knock joke? Well, Jeromy says he’s had several customers pack up and leave during the night. Maybe this is why.

Jones says there are a few tickets left for Friday or Saturday night. Call the Jefferson Hotel in Jefferson for more information. The Wraith Chasers next appearance will be at Bobby Mackey’s in Kentucky, which has been called the “Most haunted nightclub in America”.
