AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - Amarillo police has identified the student who is currently detained after carrying a weapon into Tascosa High school.

17-year-old Syltavious Moore has been booked into the Potter County Jail after bringing a weapon to the school.

Amarillo ISD originally said three students were placed in police custody after the gun was found.

Amarillo police say an APD Liaison Officer at the school was made aware of a student in possession of a gun.

The school was placed on lockdown that afternoon, and then soon lifted after the gun was secured.

This incident is being investigated by the APD violent crimes squad and School Liaison officers.
