EAST TEXAS (KLTV/KTRE) - The lighter end averages of both feeder steers and heifers ended mostly firm to $2 higher. And the heavier class averages trended about $2 lower, according to the East Texas livestock weekly market report out of Crockett.
Slaughter cows remained strong and ended the week about $3 ahead compared to the last market. Slaughter bulls ended the week steady.
The market report says the board regained it’s losses from the recent negative closing due to the traders fearing a large placement figure coming in this Friday’s cattle on feed report. It also credits the higher corn prices.
