JACKSONVILLE, Texas (KLTV) - Renovations on the Norman Activity Center have begun, with an eye to making it the brand new city library.
The new Jacksonville library will be located on Commerce Street and will hopefully be open in the late spring, according to Trina Stidham, the library director. She said that there is a lot of work to be done before books can be brought in.
“More of the work is the behind-the-scene, like wiring, IT, and replacing of lights. We’re starting that. Floor being ripped out so it can be replaced. We’re still in the beginning stages,” Stidham said.
The library moved out of its previous location, which was purchased by Chick-Fil-A, in October.
