East Texas (KLTV) - Here is the Weather Where You Live... Fair to Partly Cloudy and Cold tonight. Partly Cloudy and cool during the day. Cloudy skies with rain, then a rain/snow mix and even all snow is possible overnight Sunday/Monday morning. Because of this... A First Alert Weather Day has been declared for Sunday Night / Monday Morning for Icy Bridges/Overpasses. A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for portions of East Texas for Sunday night/Monday morning. The counties are Henderson, Anderson, Houston, and Trinity. During the day on Sunday, light rain moves over portions of East Texas during the morning hours and continues to move eastward through the area. As we head into the afternoon/evening hours, a slow transition into a rain/snow mix is possible. Overnight Sunday and into early Monday morning it appears the precipitation may be all snow for several hours. Snowfall totals are expected to range from about .50″ over northernmost areas to nearly 2 inches in central and even southern locations of East Texas. As we head into the overnight hours on Sunday, temperatures should near the freezing mark which could allow for some bridges and overpasses to freeze. Travel conditions are expected to be very tricky across East Texas during the morning hours on Monday. As we warm well above freezing by late Monday morning, the icy conditions are expected to end. The snowfall accumulations are expected to be mainly on grassy/elevated surfaces. More to come as we get closer to this wintry event. Tuesday through Friday of next week, we are looking for much more sunshine with cold/cool mornings and cool to mild afternoons. No rain expected next week. Have a great weekend.
