East Texas (KLTV/KTRE) - Here is a look at the weather where you live: Happy Thursday, East Texas! Skies today will remain mostly cloudy as temperatures remain chilly in the upper 40s to near 50 degrees this afternoon. Northwest winds will remain breezy throughout the bulk of the afternoon, but will eventually taper off later this evening. Mostly cloudy skies persist overnight tonight and early tomorrow morning before clearing out by tomorrow afternoon. More sunshine and below average temperatures for our Saturday before our next major weather maker arrives in East Texas on Sunday. An upper-level disturbance swings into East Texas early Sunday morning and will bring the potential for a rain/snow mix to East Texas very early Sunday morning before transitioning over to rain during the day. This system will not move quickly, and any precipitation still in the area Sunday evening will likely transition back over to snow or a wintry mix overnight into early Monday morning. At this time, temperatures are expected to sit at the freezing mark which could lead to some slick roads thanks to black ice in East Texas, especially on elevated roadways like bridges and overpasses. There are many factors at play here and much can change to the forecast between now and Sunday, so please remain weather alert and continue to check for the latest information each day. Thankfully this will be an isolated incident, and sunshine returns to East Texas for Tuesday and Wednesday of next week as temperatures climb back into the 50s in the afternoon.
