VAN ZANDT COUNTY, Texas (KLTV) - The Texas A&M Forest Service was called to assist with a forest fire in the county Sunday.
At 8 a.m. on Monday, the fire was 75% contained, according to the forest service.
The fire was about 64 acres, officials said as of 6:45 p.m. By midnight they reported the blaze was about 50 percent contained, and the size was believed to be about 63 acres due to more accurate mapping, the forest service said on Twitter.
This area is located north of Hwy 80, between FM 850 and FM 47. This is northwest of Edgewood, and northeast of Wills Point. Wills Point VFD was the lead agency on the call.
