LONGVIEW, Texas (KLTV) - KLTVs Jamey Boyum talks with Happy Hippopotamus Day Care owner Brian Knox about temporarily closing down his day care center because of a water line break in the 2500 block of Highway 80 west in Longview.

Water was spewing out of the sidewalk, and the parking lot of the Happy Hippopotamus Day Care. The day care had to close because they had almost no water pressure in the building. Longview Police shut down a westbound lane of Highway 80 because of excess water. A few nearby businesses had low water pressure, but still had water. Ironically the day care was holding a splash day on their playground when it happened.

“Well, seems like we sprung a leak, or the city sprung a leak. So, no water, no more splash day today. So no fun for the kids so everybody’s got to go home,” said Happy Hippopotamus Owner Brian Knox

The City says the cause of the break was probably shifting ground. They expect it to be repaired by Friday morning.
