NWS confirms EF-0 tornado struck Wood County

WOOD COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - The National Weather Service in Shreveport said an additional tornado has been confirmed from last Wednesdays storms.

The weather service said a EF-0 tornado touched down in Wood County.

According to the weather service, the tornado had maximum winds of 80 miles per hour and traveled 3.38 miles with a maximum width of 100 yards.

The tornado started at 3:36 p.m. approximately 5 miles southwest of Yantis, first touching down near the intersection of FM 17 and FM 515 where tin was lifted and peeled back from a trailer.

The tornado then traveled in an east northeast direction crossing over the west fork of Lake Fork as a waterspout. The tornado then crossed back over land near FM 515 where trees were uprooted.

Large limbs were downed along CR 1917 with additional trees uprooted in a pasture along CR 1900 where the tornado lifted 2 miles southwest of Yantis at 3:45 p.m.
