LONGVIEW, Texas (KLTV) - Fourth graders in Longview ISD are participating in STEAM activities on the campus of Judson Middle School.
The goal is to expose them to different aspects of science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics.
“Our district is moving toward project-based learning. They’re moving toward those STEAM emphasis and so this allows our students to get even more excited, and it allows us to meet them where their needs are," said Longview ISD spokesperson Elizabeth Ross. “Kids now, they’re hands-on, they’re into technology. They want to be present and involved and this event allows them to do so.”
Vendors and colleges from all over east Texas were on hand, as well as the Longview Police Department and the Longview Fire Department.
