Anonymous donor gives $1 million to Kilgore Rangerettes

KILGORE, TX (KLTV) - Kilgore College announced Tuesday that an anonymous donor has given a $1 million gift to complete a permanent operating endowment fund for the world-famous Rangerettes organization.

According to a press release, prior to his death in 2007, Mike Miller (KC alum and ardent supporter of KC) had the vision of creating this endowment fund for the Rangerettes.

The release said while the Rangerettes have about 90 endowed scholarships with nine additional scholarships seeking endowment, this fund will serve to support operations and travel expenses for the highly sought after dance/drill team.

Remembering the college and the Rangerettes in his will, Miller’s estate began contributing to the Mike Miller Rangerette Fund with the provison that such contributions would be specifically earmarked for the Rangerettes until the endowment reached $1 million.

The release said the donor, a Kilgore College graduate and his wife, a former Rangerette, who prefer to remain anonymous, made Miller’s dream a reality.
