NWS preliminary report determines EF-1 tornado hit Harrison County

The National Weather Service released preliminary confirmation an EF-1 tornado touched down in Marshall Wednesday.

HARRISON COUNTY, TX - A National Weather Service survey team has determined an EF-1 tornado touched down in Harrison County on Wednesday, north of the city of Marshall.

The NWS confirmed the rating Thursday in a preliminary report.

During the day, teams surveyed portions of western Louisiana and eastern Texas to evaluate possible tornado damage in the area.

A team was sent out to Harrison County, near Marshall, to evaluate damage. The team will also travel to Bethany along the Louisiana/Texas line. Another team will be surveying areas in Louisiana, including parts near Readhimer and Saline.
