From the Tyler Police Deparmtnet
On Saturday, April 6, 2019 at approximately 4:00 p.m., Tyler officers responded to the Super One located at 1105 E. Gentry Parkway for a forgery in progress.
Officers arrived on scene and detained four subjects that were attempting to pass a fraudulent payroll check that included a payroll withholding stub. The check named Miller Tire & Wheels of Tyler as the payee. However, this business does not exist. Investigators from the Financial Crimes Unit were called out for further investigation.
Investigators developed probable cause to show that this is an organized group of suspects working out of the Dallas Fort Worth area and was specifically targeting East Texas Businesses. Investigators also learned that other checks of this nature may have been passed or attempted to be passed. However, the additional locations where the checks may have been passed are not known at this time.
Any business that received or came in contact with anyone attempting to pass a check from Miller Tire & Wheel should contact Sergeant Colby, 903-531-1098 or Detective Hale at 903-535-0121.
The following subjects were arrested and charged with Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity on Saturday:
1) Alonzo Devante Dixon from Fort Worth, Bond $500,000.
2) Rochelle Denise Moore from Fort Worth, Bond $350,000.
3) Vernon Ray Isaac III from Fort Worth Bond $350,000.
