Video: New Kilgore College graduates compete in lineman rodeo

KILGORE, TX (KLTV) - Friday, sixteen students will compete at the lineman rodeo. Freshly trained and graduating students of the Kilgore College Electric Power Technology (KCEPT) program have the opportunity to exhibit skills in feats of pole climbing, hurt-man rescue, and insulator changing exercises.

The rodeo begins at 9 a.m. Friday, March 22, at the new KCEPT Training Field – located at 2317 CR 174 East in Kilgore.

“Top Hand Award” will be presented to the student who earns the highest overall score in the course. Other awards given will include “Outstanding Student,” based on class grades and field competencies and “Most Supportive Teammate,” selected by class vote.

Graduation is set for 4 p.m. the same day in the Devall Student Center Ballroom on the Kilgore campus.

This is the 23rd class to complete the 10-week certificate program. Graduation candidates, listed by hometown:
