1 dead after late-night crash in Tyler
TYLER, TX (KLTV) - One person is dead following a car crash on Loop 323 in Tyler.
According to the Tyler Police Department, both police and Tyler fire responded to the scene of a two-vehicle wreck at ESE Loop 323 and Paluxy Drive at about 10:48 p.m. Monday.
Tyler police reported, based on witness accounts and on-scene investigation, the crash occurred when a silver Jeep traveling west on Loop 323 ran through a red light at a high speed and crashed into a red GMC Yukon.
The driver of the Yukon, identified as 25-year-old Dan Rodela Gonzalez, was killed in the crash. Tyler police reported he was extricated from his car and pronounced dead at the scene.
According to Tyler police, the driver of the Jeep, identified as 24-year-old Ethan John Craft, was admitted to UT Health with reportedly serious injuries
“At this time, no arrests have been made but the circumstances of the wreck are under investigation – including whether alcohol or other substances may have played a role in the crash," reported Tyler police in a press release.
The investigation into the crash remains under investigation, according to Tyler police.
