Man’s body found in lake near Tool sent to Dallas for autopsy; investigation continues at scene

HENDERSON COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - Officials are conducting a death investigation after a body was found in Cedar Creek Lake.
According to the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office, they responded to the lake after the office received a call reporting a body had been found near Cherokee Trace, just out the Tool. They said the call reported the body was spotted near a dock off of Sampan Drive.
Henderson County Sheriff Botie Hillhouse reported deputies were able to quickly locate the body. Investigators were called to the scene and the office is currently conducting an death investigation.
While details are limited at this time, Hillhouse said the body appears to be male.
Hillhouse said it is still early in the investigation.
The Henderson County Sheriff's Office is being assisted by the Henderson County District Attorney's Office, Texas Game Wardens, Tool Police Department, and the Tool Fire Department.
Henderson County Justice of the Peace Precinct 2 Kevin Pollock conducted the inquest. Judge Pollock ordered the body to be sent to American Forensics in Dallas for an autopsy.
