Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued for Panola, Smith, Rusk, Cherokee Counties

EAST TEXAS (KLTV) - The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Panola, Smith, Rusk and Cherokee County.

The warning is in effect until 5:00 p.m. The National Weather Service reported at about 4:22 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was located 7 miles east of Jacksonville, making its way northeast. Hazards, according to the National Weather Service, include quarter-sized hail and damage to vehicles can be expected.

The National Weather Service reports the southeastern section of Smith County, the southwestern part of Panola County, the northeastern section of Cherokee County and Rusk County are affected by the warning.
