Henderson shooting suspect arraigned on capital murder

The man accused of killing two people and wounding two others at a Henderson apartment building, appeared in an East Texas court.

Randy Buford Winn was extradited from Louisiana yesterday on murder charges, stemming from the Sunday night shooting at the Oak Manor apartments in Henderson.

Calm and quietly walking into the courtroom, the 62 year old Winn seemed distant as precinct 5 judge Jana Enlowe read the charges against him.

"You are accused of the offense of murder first degree. capital murder capital felony," the judge said.

Enlowe set the bond amount at a whopping 2-point 5 million dollars.

"You have the right to retail council, you have the right to remain silent. you have the right to have an attorney present," said Enlowe.

Winn spoke only once to ask for an attorney.

Winn was arrested in Bienville parish, Louisiana after a family member reported he was in the area.

He simply nodded his head when the judge announced bond.

31 year old Justin Smith, and 37 year old Holly Jones were killed in the shooting.

Wounded was 26 year old Cassandra Shaffer, and 65 year old Billie Pyers, who family members told us today is in critical condition.

Family and friends held a vigil for the victims at the apartment section last night.

Police are still investigating the motive for the shooting.
