TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Tyler police have arrested a man in a double-shooting that occurred on Monday afternoon.

The shooting happened at about 1:55 p.m. Monday, and sent two victims to the hospital, where they are said by police to be in surgery on Monday night.

The suspect in the shooting has been identified as Tomas Gabriel Martinez, 24, of Tyler. On Monday night at 6:30, a Crime Stoppers tip led to his arrest as he was driving into Van Zandt County.

Tyler Investigators had secured an arrest warrant for the suspect for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, a 1st degree Felony. His bond was set at $500,000.

About 1:55 p.m. Monday, Tyler Police Department officers received a call that a man identified as Christopher Jimerson, 19, had been shot multiple times.

Police say Jimerson ran for help into a nearby restaurant in the 1200 block of East Erwin, where he called police.

When officers arrived, they determined the shooting had occurred in the 200 block of North George Street in the driveway of the residence. Officers later found a second victim, identified as Patricia Tave, 21, in the driveway. She had been shot multiple times.

Both victims were transported to an area hospital. Their conditions will be updated on Tuesday, police say.

Martin says the shooting is believed to have stemmed from a domestic issue, as Martinez has a child with Patricia Tave, the female victim.
