EAST TEXAS (KLTV) - You can start the new year off planting seeds in your garden.
Right now, the Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Service in Angelina County says the best things to plant is long-term frost-tolerant vegetables.
Examples include: beet, broccoli, Brussels sprout, cabbage, chard, collard, garlic, mustard, onion, parsley, spinach, and turnip.
All of these seeds can be protected for a couple of days with the expected upcoming short- term freezes and they will provide a tremendous amount of quality of vegetables all winter.
