LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A DWI suspect is in custody after he allegedly crashed his vehicle while trying to order food at a closed Taco Bell.

Lufkin police arrested Daric Hollis, 47. Hollis is charged with driving while intoxicated and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The incident occurred about 9:21 p.m. on Dec. 25.

Dispatchers initially received a call about a reckless driver who was driving over curbs and sidewalks.

An off-duty officer who was working a security job later found the vehicle in a Taco Bell parking lot and the driver was identified as Hollis.

Police say Hollis got out of his Hyundai Elantra and tried to enter the business but found it was closed. He then attempted to leave, but got his vehicle stuck on the drive-thru lane curb.

He was taken into custody and agreed to give a breath sample. Police say Hollis blew a .28.
