UPDATE: House a total loss after Sunday structure fire

SMITH COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -UPDATE: The Smith County Fire Marshal said an abandoned house is a total loss after a fire Sunday.

According to the Fire Marshal, it took about an hour and an half to put out the fire at the home.

The Fire Marshal said they are still investigating the incident, but are talking with the families of some juveniles who were seen in the area around the time of the fire.

UPDATE: A house was fully engulfed in flames when fire crews were called to a home in the 11300 block of US 271 Sunday.

Crews are currently working to extinguish the fire.

Fire crews said it is unknown if anyone lives at the home.

Emergency crews are responding to a reported structure fire in Smith County.

According to the Smith County Fire Marshal, the call came in at 2:59 p.m. from the 11300 block of US 271.

Winona, Jackson Heights, and Red Springs are responding.
