LINDALE, TX (KLTV) - Three people were killed in an early morning wreck on Interstate 20 Monday.
According to Highway Patrol officials, around 4:20 a.m., troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash on I-20 about a mile east of U.S. Highway 69 near Lindale.
Officials say an 18-wheeler was legally parked on the westbound shoulder of I-20 near the Jim Hogg Road exit, mile marker 557 when a 2016 Jeep Renegade traveling westbound drifted onto the shoulder of the roadway and struck the parked truck.
The driver of the vehicle, Chelsey Elizabeth Brewer, 36, of Grand Prairie was transported to a Tyler hospital where she was later pronounced dead, according to DPS officials.
Officials say two 16-year-old passengers in the Renegade were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the 18-wheeler, who was asleep in the cab of the truck was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
