TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Officials are holding a meeting to discuss water issues that have plagued Jacksonville residents for more than a week.
On Oct. 3, Craft-Turney Water Supply Corporation put out a ‘do not use’ notice for residents in an area near Jacksonville. Customers without running water while TCEQ ran tests on the water.
Last week, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality informed the water supply company that the “Do Not Use Order” could be rescinded for normal household use and consumption for all customers except the 11 connections located near the vicinity of the backflow incident.
Officials suspected a fungicide was in the water, causing irritation of skin and eyes for those who used the water.
