Skies across East Texas this afternoon will vary from Mostly Sunny to Mostly Cloudy...most of us, just Partly Cloudy. Rain chances will be limited to the far western edge of East Texas, with most of us staying dry today. Highs should top out in the lower 90s across the entire area.
Beginning tomorrow, rain chances will slowly increase to about 30% during the afternoon hours, increase to near 40% overnight tomorrow/into Thursday morning, then near 50%, if not more, during the day on Thursday as an upper level disturbances moves over the northern portions of East Texas. Heaviest rainfall totals are likely to be north of I-20 with amounts of 1" to 1 1/2" and of course, less than that south of I-20, in the .50" to 1" range. If you experience a heavier thunderstorm, amounts could be higher than 1 1/2". Rain chances will likely continue through midday on Friday, then end by the weekend. The storm prediction center has NOT placed any portion of Texas or Oklahoma in any type of 'risk' at this time. That is good news.
As we head into the weekend, we are looking for Partly Cloudy skies, a few showers over Deep East Texas on Saturday, with below normal temperatures. Lows are expected to be in the upper 60s to near 70 and Highs should be in the upper 80s to lower 90s. ENJOY!!!
