UPDATE: Robbery turns deadly in East Texas

UPDATE 03-13-09 04:39pm: Police are now officially saying that robbers were trying to steal marijuana from 22-year-old Charles Frazar Wednesday night when he was shot at the Cambridge Court Apartments in Nacogdoches. Frazar later died at a Nacogdoches hospital.

Funeral services for Frazar have been set for Sunday.

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KLTV) - Police say an aggravated robbery at an apartment ultimately resulted in a shooting and stabbing. The homicide happened Wednesday evening at the Cambridge Court Apartments on Northway.

According to witnesses, 22-year-old Charles Frazar and another man were inside their apartment when three suspects knocked at their door, asking to use the telephone. Once inside, one of the suspects produced a handgun and the others began gathering items from the apartment. The deceased victim then got a large knife and rushed the suspects, cutting two of the suspects severely with the knife. During this struggle, the suspect with the gun fired at the Frazar, striking him three times. Frazar was able to wrestle the gun from the suspect and shoot at another suspect, striking him once. The suspects then fled the scene in a vehicle and went to Nacogdoches Medical Center Hospital. The victim then went to the parking lot and was transported to the hospital, where died a short time later.

One suspect, Okeiron Bowser, 20, of Nacogdoches is currently in a Tyler hospital undergoing treatment for cuts and stab wounds. Another suspect, Marlin Randal, 27, of Nacogdoches is currently being treated at a Nacogdoches Hospital. The last suspect, 21-year-old Marsh Odom, II, of Center was not injured and has been arrested.

All three of the suspects have been charged with Capital Murder.
