EAST TEXAS (KLTV) - Reverend David Wilkerson is speaking out about an "urgent warning," as he calls it, and it's got the nation talking.

He is unburdening his soul, he says.

"Something's coming shortly," warns Wilkerson on a You Tube video. "Something's coming soon."

Wilkerson says he was compelled by the holy spirit to release this ugent message.

It says in part...

"There will be riots and fires in cities worldwide," predicts Wilkerson. "There will be looting. What we're experiencing now is not a recession or depression. We are under God's wrath."

Wilkerson is the founder of World Challenge. There is a location in Garden Valley near Lindale and one in New York City. They told us Wilkerson has been flooded with media calls and is unavailable to comment on this latest revelation.

So we talked to a pastor who is currently preaching on Revelations with his congregation.

"The Bible talks about in Revelations [that] there's going to be a time of great tribulation where God will use wrath to pour out his judgement on people," said Pastor Doug Clark of Grace Community Church. "Still for the purpose of drawing them to himself."

Pastor Clark believes disasters and destruction will plague earth, but he doesn't agree with Wilkerson that that time is near.

"I'm not saying he didn't have a vision of God or that God's not speaking to him and I think it's important to evaluate," explained Clark. "I do think God is going to deal with sin and God hates it, but I just don't think it's that time right now and I don't think he's going to deal with it that way until some very specific events take place in the future that we don't even know what they'll come."

Throughout history, there have been countless predictions about the end of times. Pastor Clark questions that fascination, as he says no one can alter God's plan.

"This is the revelation of John, things must take place," ha said. "We can't stop this stuff, and so to worry about it and to be concerned about what's going to happen in the future is a fruitless pursuit."
