SAUDIS SAY RELIGIOUS VIOLATORS FACE FIRING, DEPORTATION

Non-Muslims who live in Saudi Arabia have been warned not to eat, drink or smoke in public during daylight hours of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, which starts later this week. The Saudi Ministry of the Interior says violators could lose their jobs and be deported. There are seven (m) million foreigners living in Saudi Arabia, of whom two (m) million are non-Muslims. Muslims believe that it was during Ramadan that their holy book, the Quran, was revealed to Muhammad some 14-hundred years ago.
