It's what East Texas hunters look forward to the first weekend of every November... deer hunting.
But there's a new face on this annual season.
More women are deer hunting now than ever before.
As hunters buy every accessory and trick in the book to bag that big buck. Women are joining in the practice that has been part of our history since the frontier days. Being traditionalists, they know the necessity of hunting. This year Texas Parks and Wildlife are saying that there are more than 3-and-a-half million deer in Texas. An organization called Women in the Outdoors, gives women an opportunity to learn about hunting, fishing and outdoor sports. For more information you can call their local chapter at 663-5839.
